A small-group Kutná Hora day with hotel pickup

A local guide collects up to seven guests from their hotels by minivan for a long day of countryside, Kutná Hora and a late, quiet visit to the ossuary. Pick it if you want more than the standard route and the comfort of a small group.

Small-Group Kutná Hora Day with Lunch Option

About this experience

This is the most complete day on the site, and the 8 hours 30 minutes show it. The listing includes hotel pickup and drop-off by minivan, a local guide in English or Spanish, a light snack and water, and entry to the Sedlec Ossuary, St Barbara's Cathedral and the Cathedral of the Assumption of Our Lady in Sedlec. Lunch, a main meal and one drink, is included if you pick that option. The tour cancels free up to 24 hours before. Official ossuary tickets refund only up to 3 days before, and only as a voucher.

The day opens in the countryside. From March to October and in December you visit an open-air folk museum of timbered cottages, barns and an old schoolroom; from January to March and in November the entry is to Český Šternberk Castle instead. The operator notes the folk museum is closed on Mondays and in winter, and swaps in the castle or a folk costume museum then. In Kutná Hora you walk to St Barbara's and past the royal mint, with stops at viewpoints or a local winemaker, ceramicist or jeweller along the way.

The ossuary comes last, in the late afternoon when most tours have already left. The lower chapel holds the bones of between 40,000 and 70,000 people, arranged by the woodcarver František Rint in 1870 into four pyramids, garlands, the Schwarzenberg coat of arms and a chandelier said to use every bone in the human body. The listing has 5.0 stars from 18 reviews, a small count but a clean one, and guests name Jana and Ondřej. It is not suitable for children under 6, wheelchair users or people with mobility impairments.
